Deep State Deception (Coming Soon)

The author behind the memoir “How I Became The World’s Greatest Private Eye” returns with a new historical novel based on his experiences in life during the Cold War. Several historical events are tied into his adventures in this book.

The year is 1968. The Vietnam war rages on, and the American army is bogged down with the guerrilla tactics their opponents employ. With their rivals tied up in this messy conflict, the Soviet Union takes the chance to crack down on dissent, storming Czechoslovakia in August to put an end to its attempted reforms. Coincidentally, a certain young man joins the U.S. Army this very year…

Immediately following this invasion, a small group of ASA super spooks are assigned to establish a listening post on Mount Eckstein located on the mountain top bridging the Czechoslovakian-West German border. As they live among the German population there, they closely monitor the border looking for any intelligence they can find. But nothing in life is simple, and despite the secrecy of their mission, the Russians take note of the ASA’s personnel and adopt their own measures to disrupt their operations.

The book depicts the recruitment of a young man into not one but two intelligence agencies with his mission to engage the Russian honey traps seeded throughout the border region of West Germany following the 1968 Czech invasion. This commitment, however, plunges him into a far greater and more sinister Soviet plot: one that would, if not stopped, severely endanger American-European relations for decades to come.
